🇻🇪🇷🇺 The U.S. offered Maduro a chance to leave for Russia
Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin said on CNN that the United States had offered Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro the option to voluntarily leave the country.
"We gave Maduro a chance. We told him he could go to Russia or any other country," Mullin said.
He also stressed that Trump has no intention of launching a military operation: "He made it clear that we're not going to send troops into Venezuela. Our job is to protect our own borders."
Reuters reveals Maduro's demands to step down from power during his 15-minute call with Trump on Friday, November 21:
Full amnesty for him and his family, plus the withdrawal of the case before the International Criminal Court. He requested the removal of sanctions on about 100 people of his inner circle. He asked that Delcy RodrÃguez, leader of the Socialist League (i.e. the ""moderate"" wing of the Regime) lead a transition before new elections.
Trump rejected all the demands.
